Dr. Navaya Shinasharkey

Dr. Navaya Shinasharkey began her piano studies at the age of 5 with her mother and later with Sister Rene de Jesus, Professor Dr.Weerachat Premananda, and Wei Zhou.  She received LTCL Diploma in Piano Performance from the Trinity College of Music, London as the youngest candidate in Southeast Asia who obtained this level at age 15 in 1995.  She received her Bachelor Degree in Piano Performance under supervisor of Professor Tongsuang Israngkun from the Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, Chulalongkorn University with first-class honors.  In 2003, she completed her Master of Music in Piano Performance under supervisor of Dr. Robert Palmer from Ball State University, USA. In 2013, she completed her Ph.D Fine and Applied Arts (in Music) at Chulalongkorn University.

During her studies she developed a passion and a performance research concentrating on the works of Beethoven, Brahms and Liszt. Navaya has performed at Alliance Francaise, Thai-German Cultural Foundation Auditorium, and Art Center of Chulalongkorn University. In addition, she has participated in numerous performances including concerts given by the Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts at Chulalongkorn Assembly Hall and Asian Composition Conference at Chulalongkorn University.
